Many years ago a young German woman came to my village for her first visit. She didn't know anyone there. She was talking with a soldier on the bus. He said." I know one person here who can care for you and keep you safe." He brought her to me.` She stayed in my house for a week and then returned with her American partner. We continue to be friends. I have always been a leader in my community, looking out, and caring for the people around me.
